Alternate and Renewable Energy

Introduction

DarbyTech recommends the following equipment for “hands on” training in a renewable and alternate energy training program. Two broad categories encompass this equipment. The first is based on renewable energy sources (solar, wind water, biomass). The second on alternative energies and non conventional hydrocarbon based energy sources.

Note that all equipment includes both the hardware and custom written training manuals. Wherever possible, commercially available equipment or modules are provided. In some cases significant customization or special designs may be required. These are real working equipment, not bench models. In all cases, extra instrumentation and safety equipment are included to provide a safe and thorough learning experience.

Renewable Energy Training Equipment

Solar:

    • Solar radiation measurement and recording station – commercial metering equipment

      • Thermo-siphon water heater demonstrator – commercial 2.3 m2 collector with 132 liter integral storage tank
      • Forced circulation water heater demonstrator – commercial 2.9 m2 collector with dedicated pump and heat exchanger unit.
