Pipeline Pigging Demonstrator
Description: The pipeline pigging demonstration apparatus is a small scale model of a pipeline including a launching station, short pipeline (with several bends) and a receiving station. Selected components are made of see-through plastic materials. The process has no instrumentation and is intended to demonstrate oilfield operating principles with basic visual / manual operation.
Function: This pipeline demonstrator uses low pressure air to move a pig through a section of clear plastic pipeline. The sending and receiving stations are equipped with manual valves for de-pressuring, loading, launching and receiving of pipeline pigs. An electric blower supplies the low-pressure air. The air is vented to the atmosphere at the downstream end of the pipeline demonstrator.
